So I've been thinking lately about how I could go about reducing the amount of waste I make and stumbled upon this video. I found it really interesting, I hadn't even thought about making my own beauty products with it (which would really help because my skin reacts badly to a lot of soaps and shampoos). Also since developing my dairy allergy I've been eating a lot more vegan food, and while I still love my meat, I feel like I could live without it.

Is this something you've thought about? What sort of things do you do to reduce the amount of waste you produce (if anything)?

I don't know that my goal was ever to reduce waste, but my goal has always been to save money. So, things like, "Do I need that snack food? Well, no." -- then I don't buy the snack food. I found that there's less garbage that way, as a side effect.
Of course, we have an infant daughter (6 months old). And we save money by buying avocados or bananas to make our own baby food. Just mash it up, and there you go. Instant baby food; less waste.

If the Second Law of Thermodynamics holds true, it essentially means you can't live a zero waste life. You can redefine the word waste though.

I try to Recycle/Upcycle everything where possible.

In regards to dietary waste, if you don't put out any solid waste, you're not taking in any waste. Might be ill-advised to not waste anything, though...
