I did Maths Methods in Yr11 and 12. I wanted to do Specialist Maths (Spesh) as well but it clashed with Visual Communications and Design and at the time I wanted to be a Multimedia designer so I went with the latter one. Looking back I really wish I had fought them on it because since I've had to do a heap of physics and other advanced Maths that wasn't covered in Methods and it's been tough to have to catch up with people when I grew up always being the best in the class at Maths.
My brother faced a similar thing in VCE; he wanted to do LOTE Indonesian and Spesh but they clashed, but he was more confident than me and went to the board of education to fight and managed to win, getting to be in a one-person LOTE class and the regular-running Spesh one. I will forever kick myself for not doing the same. :<
